About the Venue

Kakushokaku mansion and bridge, viewed across the pond at Sankeien

We are excited to welcome you to Sankeien, a magnificent garden home to historic pagodas and tea houses gathered from across Kyoto, Kamakura, and beyond. Our wedding will be held inside Kakushokaku, a grand mansion nestled within the garden grounds. Registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Yokohama, Kakushokaku was built in 1902 as the private residence of silk merchant and art patron Sankei Hara, serving as a gathering space for influential global thinkers and artists.

When should I RSVP by?
We’d love to know if you can join us! Please RSVP using the form below by December 31, 2026, so we can finalize our headcount with the venue.
What should I wear?
We want you to be comfortable, so any appropriate wedding attire is wonderful! If you’re looking for inspiration, we’d be thrilled to see a beautiful blend of our cultures. You are very welcome to wear traditional Japanese kimono (such as Homongi, Iromuji, or Furisode) or vibrant, long, flowing dresses inspired by daytime Brazilian celebrations. Please note: because our venue is a traditional Japanese house, all guests will be asked to remove their shoes indoors.
Is there parking at the venue?
Limited parking is available near the front entrance for a fee. You can find more information on the Sankeien Access Page.
Are children welcome?

Of course! Little ones are more than welcome to join us. A nursing room and diaper-changing station will be available for your convenience.

While we love having kids celebrate with us, we kindly ask that if a little one becomes fussy or starts crying during the ceremony or speeches, you step outside for a brief moment so everyone can comfortably enjoy the vows and toasts. Thank you for understanding!
